Farnborough Air Show, world’s largest, opens for first time in years

London, July 17, (PA Media/dpa/GNA) – More than 1,500 exhibitors were ready to greet visitors on Monday, as the world’s biggest aerospace and defence show opened its doors in Britain on Monday.

Usually conducted every two years, this is the first time the Farnborough Air Show has been staged since 2018, due to coronavirus restrictions in 2020.

Deals worth a total of £161 billion ($192 billion) were agreed upon at the last show, according to organisers.

More than 80,000 visitors from 96 countries are expected to attend this week’s five-day event.

Much of the focus will be on commercial manufacturing giants, Airbus and Boeing.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in attendance and is set to view an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
