President Akufo-Addo congratulates, welcomes new NPP leaders

Accra, July 17, GNA – President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated the national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that emerged at the just concluded National Delegates’ Conference in Accra, charging them to unite the party to ensure victory in 2024.

Mr Stephen Ayensu Ntim was elected national Chairman of the party, beating six other contestants in the election in which over 6,700 participated at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Mr Justin Frimpong Kodua was elected General Secretary. He beat the incumbent, Mr John Boadu in a keenly contested voting exercise.

The winners for the other national executive positions are Henry Nana Boakye, Orgainser, Danquah Smith Buttey, 1st Vice Chairman, Dr Charles Dwamena, Treasurer, Kate Gyamfua, Women’s Organiser, and Salam Mohammed Mustapha, Youth Organiser.

In a post on Sunday, President Akufo-Addo the congratulated the new national Chairman and the other national officers, indicating that their victory has set the tone for NPP’s success in the next elections.

He remarked that the smooth conduct of the election had demonstrated “that we are the Party that is committed to the tenets of multi-party democracy.”

“We have elected a team of officers with a deep attachment to the timeless values and principles of the Party and its tradition, and who will steer affairs of the party for the next four years. They are the national face and voice of our Party, and they will set the tone and the pace of our election campaign in 2024.

The President urged all in the NPP to unite strongly behind the new national officers, noting that the party was at its best “when we are united and operating as a focused entity.”

“I, thus, urge all in the NPP to unite strongly behind our new national officers, for it is only by working together that we can “Break the Eight”, and help deliver progress and prosperity to the Ghanaian people,” he said.
