Ledzokuku MCE appeals to residents to respect Assembly by-laws

Accra, June 12, GNA–Mr Mordecai Quarshie, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ledzokuku, has appealed to residents of Teshie to respect the by-laws of the Assembly in order to help in the development of the Municipality.

He said it was important to stop dumping refuse into the drains and the putting up of structures in water ways.

The MCE made this appeal at the celebration of this year’s Eid-ul Adha festival at Teshie Zongo within the Ledzokuku Municipality, on Saturday, in Accra.

“I will make sure that the necessary development, especially the confronting ones are fulfilled. I urge you all to help make Ledzokuku the best Municipality, let us all abstain from violence, conflict, robbery and disrespecting our leaders as well as dumping of refuse in gutters”

Mr Benjamin Ayiku, Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku , recognized the important contribution of Muslims in the country, saying Muslims had made significant contributions to national development over the past years, hence the need to live peacefully with one another as Muslims marked the festival of sacrifice.

Nii Laryea Martey I, Chief of Teshie Gbugbla, who joined Muslims at Teshie Zongo to celebrate the Eid, called on the Muslim youth to promote unity among themselves, avoid violence while ensuring sanity and respect for their leaders.

The Chief of Gbugbla also advised the youth to avoid politicians who would want to take advantage of them.

He also pledged to support the people of the Teshie Zongo by ensuring development of the communities.

Eid-ul Adha is a festival of sacrifice, which marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage.
