Nkwanta South: Boy, three, seeks GHC40, 000 to undergo Wilms tumor surgery

Nkwanta South (O/R), June 24, GNA- A three-year-old boy at the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region, is in dire need of an amount of GHC 40,000 to support him undergo a Wilms tumour surgery at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in the Greater Accra Region.

The Wilms tumour jaw metastatic was diagnosed by Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital at the Department of Child Health and requires surgery to correct the defect and relieve the pains of the boy.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Elisha Ayeng, father of the child, said attempts over years to get help for his son, which included attending prayer camps and footing hospital bills, had collapsed his financial source.

Mr Ayeng said his son had been battling with the cancer from delivery and gradually the disease has turned to wills tumour.

The parents are appealing for financial aid from the Government, religious organisations and other philanthropists to support him to undergo the surgery to remove the tumour off his jaw to have a new and a happy life.
