Global Peace Summit to raise awareness on Russian-Ukraine conflict

Accra, June 15, GNA – The Forum for Global Peace, a coalition of persons, organisations and groups focused on ending the Russian-Ukraine conflict, is to organise an online peace event dubbed Global Peace Summit on the conflict.

The online event to be held on June 26, 2022, and July 03, 2022, in Accra is expected to draw huge global audience online on the call for the end of the conflict.

The Forum, in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the Russian – Ukraine conflict had the potential to escalate and spill over to other countries and continents, increasing suffering and hardships.

“This is because Russia is a key player in the global oil and natural gas markets. Russia and Ukraine are also key players in huge exports of wheat and fertilizers. Already, there are signs the war is having a toll on Europe and the rest of the World.”

Since February 24, 2022, Russia and Ukraine have been engaged in war with effects spreading across continents, people and economies.
