Tema, June 12, GNA – Mrs Agatha Akonor-Mills, a Trustee of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), has advised the youth to uphold righteousness and integrity at all times.
She said integrity was the quality of being honest and strong about what one believes to be right; steadfast adherence to a moral or ethical code.
She reiterated that it was essential that the youth did not give in to temptations against holiness and purity.
Mrs Akonor-Mills gave the advice in her presentation at the GCCI Tema District Junior Youth Retreated on the theme, “Imitating Christ in Holiness and Integrity”.
The purpose of the one-day retreat was to inculcate Christlikeness in the youth of the Church.
She said integrity entails doing what was right at home, in the community, at the work place and in the Church.
Mrs Akonor-Mills, who said the youth must not follow people to do evil, also urged them to have self-discipline.
Touching on holiness, she said: “We can never be perfectly holy as God is, but we should seek to emulate his holiness since he created us in his image. Integrity is your bargaining chip with God.”
She reminded the youth that without holiness and integrity, it was impossible to see God; adding that, “there is a call on your life to holy living”.
She cautioned the youth against sexual immorality and that it was the shortest way devised by the devil to lead people to hell.
“Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, so keep it holy, else God will destroy you. Indulging in these (sexual immoralities) cannot make you holy; so, you cannot see a holy God. Prevention is better than cure.”
She cited Joseph in the Bible as a youth of integrity, whose life all Christian youth should emulate.
She also appealed to the youth to do business with the fear of God and put God at the centre of all that the do.
Deacon Derrick Dery Akasreku, the National Youth Coordinator of the GCCI, said sexual immorality was one of the dangerous sins that could destroy the life and ministry of an individual and urged the youth to refrain from such acts.
Reverend Paul Morgan Adorsu, the Tema District Pastor of the GCCI, charged the youth to shun social vices and embrace godliness in order to have a better and secure future.
Rev. Daniel Gidisu, the Resident Pastor of GCCI Mount Zion Assembly/GCCI Tema District Director of Church Life, said the Church was teaching the youth chastity in order to raise youth with a stronger commitment to morality.
Elder Iddi Yire, Presiding Elder of GCCI Maranatha Assembly/GCCI Tema and District Director of Junior Youth/Children’s Ministries, urged Christian youth to emulate Christ in all that they do and to be his worthy ambassadors.
Madam Janice Agbemabiase, the National Vice President of GCCI Junior Youth Ministry, encouraged her fellow youth to standup for Jesus in all that they do.
