Fidelity recognised as Best Regional Bank

Accra, May 31, GNA – A privately owned indegenous bank, Fidelity Bank, has been named the Best Regional Bank for West Africa at the African Banker Awards organised during the African Development Bank meetings in Accra.

The Awards ceremony was designed to recognise and reward institutions and individuals shaping the growth of Africa’s banking and finance sector.

Mr Julian Opuni, the Managing Director of Fidelty Bank, said the recognition was a testament to the unflinching commitment of the Bank to provide excellent banking services to customers.

“It is particularly remarkable that this recognition comes at a time when we are celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Fidelity Bank. This award tells us that we are indeed on the right path, and encourages us to do more,” he added.

Being the only indigenous bank to receive an award during the event, he said, “we recognise the role of our loyal customers and our dedicated staff in the numerous successes we have chalked. This award signifies a new win borne out of the collaborative efforts by stakeholders, staff, and customers of the Bank.”

Within a period of 15 years since its inception, the Bank has grown to become one of the most respected and revered continental banking brands.

The Bank’s outstanding leadership in the banking space has been demonstrated by its innovative programmes such as the Fidelity Young Entrepreneurs Fund and its partnership with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency to introduce the Orange Corners Innovation Fund; all of which provide capacity building and funding to youth-led businesses.

It has also established innovative digital products and services ranging from its upgraded mobile banking app, USSD platforms and to Kukua, its WhatsApp Banking Assistant to enhance customer experience and drive financial inclusion.
