Grow a Tree and Growing Trees Network donates seedlings to Focos Orthopedic Hospital

Accra, May 28, GNA – Grow a Tree and Growing Trees Network Ghana, a Non- Governmental Organization led by Mr Christopher Boating, its CEO has donated tree seedlings to Focos Orthopedic Hospital in honour of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

The donation formed part of the NGO’s plan to support three health centres with tree seedlings and to educate them on the importance of trees to health in Greater Accra.

Similarly, the NGO has donated to LEKMA, Tema General and Focos Orthopedic Hospitals.

Mrs. Vivian Kumasa, Administrative Manger of the Hospital who received the seedlings thanked the NGO for the opportunity.

She promised to make good use of the seedlings for the benefit of the facility.

The 70 Seedlings donated included, Mahogany, Soursop, Moringa, Guava, Noni, Pawpaw, Coconuts, Cocoa, and Prekese.

Educational Flyers were also given to them to learn more on the importance of trees.

The Consultant Neurosurgeon of Focos Orthopedic Hospital, Dr Kwadwo Poku Yankey planted the first seedling, Mr. Christopher Boatin CEO of the NGO, planted the second seedling on the Compound of the Hospital.

Other officials who planted the trees were Dr Kwadwo Poku Yankey – Consultant Neurosurgeon, Serbeh Akwasi Agyeman – Finance Manager, Emelda Baffour – Nurse Manager, Eugenia Forson – HR Manager, Dr Ludmila Fernandez Gross – Consultant Anaesthetis, Vivian Kumasa – Admin Manager, Mireku Addae – Estates Supervisor and Salifu Issah – Grounds Keeping Supervisor
