Half Assini (WR) May 26, GNA-The Jomoro Municipal Assembly in the Western Region has supported 20 people living with disability (PWDs) with wheelchairs.
In addition, those in various educational institutions have been given monies for their upkeep.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Jomoro Municipality, Madam Louisa Iris Arde said the government was poised to address some concerns of the vulnerable in Ghana.
“Today’s event is a clear demonstration that the government is poised to ensure that people living with disabilities have a good stand in society and the family.
The MCE encouraged them not to be discouraged of their condition adding, “Disability is not inability, so your current situation shouldn’t overshadow your God-given talents”.
“I will beg you not to sell the wheelchairs and go back to the streets to beg for survival, use it for your movement and as I have said, the Assembly would continue to assist you”, she urged.
