Odessa tourist accommodation struck in Russian attack, Ukraine says

Kiev, May 16, (dpa/GNA) – A Russian missile strike near Ukraine’s port city of Odessa, has destroyed a tourist accommodation and left at least three people injured, the Ukrainian military says.

The southern command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said the intended target was a bridge over the Dniester River that had been damaged in an earlier attack.

A fire broke out at the scene of Monday’s strike, near the coastal Black Sea city, which has so far been largely spared from the worst of the conflict.

There was initially no confirmation from the Russian side.

The Defence Ministry in Moscow reported early on Monday, that more than 100 airstrikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure had been carried out overnight.
