Koforidua, May 15, GNA-Chiefs from all parts of Ghana have converged at the Yiadom Hwediem palace to pay their last respect to Daasebre Oti Boateng Paramount Chief of New Juaben and her queen.
President of the National House of Chiefs Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi, President of the Eastern Region house of chiefs Nene Sackite were among Paramount and divisional chiefs who mourned with the people of New Juaben.
Funerals of the late Paramount Chief and the Queen enters the second day as their remains are in state for mourners view.
Earlier in the day, a Thanksgiving service led by the Methodist and Catholic Churches was held as the late Paramount Chief was a Methodist and the queen was a Catholic.
Daasebre Oti Boateng a former government statistician and UN official was enstooled as Paramount Chief of the area in 1992 and reigned until 2021 when he joined the ancestors.
The Queen Nana Yaa Daani, 67 reigned from 2002 till early this year when she passed.
In line with Asante customs and tradition, the two would be interred on Monday after the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu had perfomed the final rites.
