Ebo Mensah re-elected as presiding member for KOKM

Accra, April 13, GNA – Mr Francis Ebo Mensah has for the third time been re-elected as the Presiding Member (PM) for the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly (KOKMA) after a second round of voting.

Mr Mensah in the first round failed to secure two-thirds of the total votes cast by the membership of the Assembly, necessitating a second round.

Municipal Chief Executive for the Assembly, Nii Adjei Tawiah, commended the Assembly members reposing confidence in Mensah and expressed the hope he would continue to work to the admiration of all.

“As a family, there is bound to be one or two issues, so I appreciate the Assembly members for voicing out their concerns for them to be resolved.

“Going forward, we must come together, learn from each other and forge ahead for the good of the Assembly,” he said.

The MCE urged the newly elected PM to work hard, bring every member on board to achieve the set goals.

Mr Henry Quartey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, who was there to observe the process, also commended the Assembly members for the confidence reposed in the PM to continue to work for the Assembly.

He said: “Leadership is a two-way affair, in the process to make things right, succeed, and achieve your goal, you must agree to disagree as members.”

He commended the Assembly members as well as management and staff of the Assembly for supporting the MCE to implement projects.

Mr Mensah, who was full of joy, expressed appreciation to the members for re-electing him, saying “although it was a hectic process, I must commend all my members for making the right choice to maintain me as their PM.”

“This is my third time becoming the PM, so this tells you that they have the confidence in me. We will be committed to doing what is right, and I believe I have the experience and the exposure to help the Assembly get what it wants.”

He assured the members that he would bring them on board to focus and work on making the Assembly and the Municipality one of the best in the region.

Ms Linda Abban, Municipal Electoral Officer, expressed satisfaction at the level of comportment and discipline exhibited by the Assembly members and urged them to continue to support the PM to achieve his mandate.
