Accra, April 11, GNA – Mr George Adu Darko, the Presiding Member of Ga Central Municipal Assembly, has retained his position with a 100 per cent unanimous decision by the 22-member Assembly.
Earlier, two contenders; Mr Bernard Owusu Ansah and Nana Kwesi Boadwoh, withdrew their candidature and supported the incumbent.
Mr Darko expressed gratitude to the members for the confidence reposed in him to lead the Assembly for the second term.
He commended Mr Bashiru Mohammed, the Municipal Chief Executive, for his role in his (Darko’s) re-election and assured the members he would work hard to ensure the Assembly met the aspirations of the people.
Mr Darko appealed to members to team up with him to advance the cause of the municipality while urging them to avoid any attitude that would derail the efforts at making progress.
Mr Mohammed, on his part, encouraged the members to work in harmony with a common objective to develop the area.
