Brussels, March 21, (dpa/GNA) – There can be no let-up in the drive to impose sanctions on Russia for the invasion of Ukraine, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said.
A feeling that the European Union wants to pause for breath would be “a very bad message to those who are actually fighting in Ukraine,” Landsbergis said on Monday at an EU foreign ministers meeting.
Lithuania’s top diplomat said more action has to be taken to punish Russia, for the attack with “the credibility of the West on the line.”
Landsbergis pushed the EU again to ban Russian energy imports, starting with oil. “I think it is unavoidable to start talking about the energy sector,” he said.
