Bodi (W/N/R), Feb. 26, GNA – Mr Collins Ntim, Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, has paid a working visit to the Bodi District to inspect ongoing government projects in the area.
Addressing the staff of the various Departments and Units of the Assembly, Mr Ntim appealed to the assembly staff to serve as supervisors and monitor all government projects ongoing in the area and report to the appropriate authorities when they found unprofessional conduct on the part of contractors.
According to him, although it was the duty of the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the district works engineer to visit the various project sites routinely, it was equally important for the citizens to keep an eye on all government projects to ensure accountability.
The Deputy Minister visited the office of the Western North Regional Health Directorate, the Bodi District Court building and the Bodi District Hospital and interacted with the staff and assured them of the government’s support.
Mr Ignatius Akwasi Amankwah, DCE for Bodi, mentioned some of the achievements of the government through the Bodi District Assembly in the area of Agriculture, decentralization of various offices in the newly created Region as well as employment.
