Nkwanta (O/R), Feb 9, GNA – Mr Bright Kwame Lenwah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, says the government is committed to completing all projects in the area to benefit them.
He asked the residents to have trust that all development projects in the Municipality would be completed in good time.
He said 12 out of the 15 Kilometres stretch from Nkwanta Township to Shiare had been completed while the diversion of the Gekyebum Bridge was progressing steadily.
Mr Lenwah was speaking to the Ghana News Agency during the inspection of some ongoing government projects in the Municipality.
The inspection tour saw the MCE and a delegation from the Ministry of Finance in Accra visited projects, including Nkwanta-Shiare Road, the damaged bridge in Nkwanta Township on Keri Road and other ongoing works at Nkwanta Senior High School.
Mr Lenwah congratulated the contractors, Rolider Construction Limited, for the good work done on the Shiare Road and asked them to work would finish in no time and be commissioned for use by motorists.
He said the stretch of road was of importance to the Municipality and appealed to the contractors to continue with their good work as the government worked to settle debts owed to the firm.
“Shiare is one of the communities with tourist sites. Therefore, when this road is completed, it will encourage more people to visit this place which can also generate funds to develop the Municipality,” he concluded.
