Akatsi (VR), Jan. 20, GNA – Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister has assured members of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) that the government will address their issues in the shortest possible time.
He said this at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly hall on Thursday, as part of his working visit to the area.
The visit was also aimed at meeting staff of the various assemblies in the region to discuss ways of addressing weak values system and non-adherence to service delivery standards.
CLOGSAG has begun a nationwide strike Thursday, over “poor” conditions of service.
They explained the conditions of service of its members had been ignored over the years and that its leaders could not withstand the pressure from the members to declare a strike, which, according to them, was long overdue.
The Ghana News Agency also observed absenteeism in the various offices of CLOGSAG members at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly.
The situation also led to the suspension of the Minister’s meeting with its members.
However, some Heads of Decentralised departments and Agencies in the Municipality were present to meet the Minister and his team.
