Global Evangelical Church inducts Synod Committee Executives

Ho, Jan. 9, GNA- The Global Evangelical Church has inducted its new Synod Committee Executives into office after successful elections in 2021 to take the mantle of leadership of the church for the next six years.

The committee members are Rt. Reverend Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, Moderator, Reverend Dr Yohanes Kwasi Ahiabu, Synod Clerk, Presbyter Eyram Kwame Atsu, Male Presbyter and Presbyter Mrs Joyce Dieu Donné Ahiabor, Female Presbyter.

At a short ceremony in Ho to induct them into office, Very Rev. Setorwu K. Ofori, Immediate Past Moderator of the Church, who performed the induction rite, asked the executives to put their trust in the Lord and seek his guidance to execute their duties effectively.

Speaking on the theme: “Stewards plan their work,” Rev. Ofori urged the new executives to develop a comprehensive plan that would guide them in their day-to-day activities to move the church forward.

He said the children of God needed to learn how to plan during challenges, be determined to move ahead and not be afraid of happenings around them.

The Past Moderator said God was ever ready to empower His children to carry out their plans successfully, adding it was the responsibility of God’s children to have plans and put them before God.

Reverend Ofori underscored the need for unity and collaboration and urged the executives not to give room to any divisive tendencies so they could bring their plans to fruition for a successful tenure.

He said the church was built on the principle of unity and that the members of the church must cherish and hold the new executives in high esteem to succeed and lift the image of the church.

Rt. Reverend Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, the new Moderator, on behalf of new executives, expressed appreciation to God for a successful election and the Church for the confidence reposed in them by electing them to serve in the various positions.

He also thanked their predecessors for availing themselves to the Holy Spirit during the tenure, which enabled them to chalk various degrees of success “upon which we have been elected to continue.”

The Moderator said they would commit themselves to holistic Christian Mission with emphasis on the Great Commission and worked to redeem the image of the church from perceived “monetisation of the gospel to the gospel of salvation of souls.”

He asked the Church to continue to pray for the executives to be led by the Lord, work with unity of purpose, and put away things that would divide them so they would appreciate the good in one another for a common upliftment.

Rt. Rev. Dzomeku noted that their doors would be opened to all to receive ideas and suggestions that would promote the unity and peace of the church and pledged to be a father of all with no discrimination against any group of people or individuals.

The ceremony was attended by some members of Parliament and traditional leaders. There were solidarity messages from Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council and others.
