Tema, Jan. 6, GNA – Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, Group Chief Executive Officer of GOIL Company Limited has commended the Board, Management, and Staff as well as the loyal customers for their contribution towards the transformation of the company.
He said the Board of Directors, Management, and Staff worked through a united front to ensure that GOIL sailed through 2021 successfully and maintained its status as a major player in the downstream petroleum sector.
He recounted some transformational measures like the reduction of the use of physical cash in the purchase of goods and services at its service stations and also making the transaction of business with GOIL appealing to the wider market.
“GOIL integrated its electronic card payment platform with that of a national payment platform by name Gh-link. This means that any Gh-link electronic cardholder can use the card to buy fuel at all of our 400 service stations throughout the country,” Mr. Osei-Prempeh who is also GOIL Managing Director stated.
Mr Osei-Prempeh who was speaking during thanksgiving service which formed part of activities to round up 2021 and usher in the New Year noted that the success of GOIL’s business was rooted in knowing what the customer wants.
In this regard, its digital footprints continue to enhance the image of the Company as well as improve customer relations.
Mr. Osei-Prempeh also highlighted the company’s achievements and attributed them largely to the intervention of God.
According to the GOIL MD, the thanksgiving service provided a platform for the company to thank God for guidance and protection throughout the past year was hosted by the Assemblies of God Church, Ringway Estates in Accra.
Mr Reginald Daniel Laryea, GOIL Board Chairman attributed the company’s achievement in 2021 to God and was grateful for God’s guidance for the successes.
He said as part of good corporate and investor relations practice, GOIL strives to keep its shareholders and the investment community up-to-date on the performance of the Company.
Mr Laryea explained that as a listed company on the Ghana Stock Exchange, GOIL’s current and historical share price can also be tracked at the click of a button.
Mr Alex Adzew, GOIL Chief Operating Officer outlined the company’s progress in 2021, “the year 2022 will be exciting since we anticipate aggressive marketing as the Company is also looking at expanding the non-fuel business.
“We intend to engage potential partners with high brands to do business at our stations. We plan to take a very active part in the new model for the distribution of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) to the industry, educational institutions and
individuals.
“GOIL has developed a mobile phone application to phase out the use of cards which allows QR codes as a payment method for goods
and services at the stations,” he said.
Mr Adzew noted that whilst reducing physical cash handling, this will further mitigate the risk of transmitting any virus during transactions.
Delivering the sermon, Prophet Christopher Yaw Annor of the International Central Gospel Church, Adenta Frafraha prophesied that GOIL will continue to flourish amidst its competitors in the industry.
The Reverend Dr Robert Ampiah Kwofie, the General Overseer of Global Revival Ministries lead the GOIL Board, Management, staff, and the congregation through a time of worship and intercessory prayers.
Other dignitaries present at the ceremony were the General Superintendent and Overseer of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong Manso; Prophet Atsu Manasseh, Rev. Owusu Ansah, Rev. Mrs. Olu Davies, and Rev. Dr Divine Ayivor.
