Accra, Jan 04, GNA – Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has commended the Directors of The Melcom Group of Companies for engaging in productive business practices in support of growing businesses in Ghana.
He said it was a good sign that the company was increasing its investments through a rapid and well co-ordinated expansion programme, which made the company live its claim as Melcom: “Where Ghana Shops.”
A statement issued by issued by Mr Godwin Avenorgbo, the Group Director of Communications, Melcom Group, copied to the Ghana News Agency, said Mr Kufuor made the remarks when a Management Team of Melcom Group of Companies, paid a Courtesy call on him at Peduase in the Eastern Region.
Mr Kufuor said he was particularly pleased with the generosity which the Melcom Care Foundation regularly extended to needy individuals, communities and institutions across the country.
Mr Avenorgbo conveyed to the former President the Melcom Group’s goodwill for continuing good health and prosperity in the New Year
He assured the former President that additional lines of business namely; Pizza Hut and Giordano Clothing in addition to new Melcom Shops being opened, would create avenues for the youth who were seeking employment opportunities to put into practice the skills they had acquired.
Melcom, he said, had developed resilient business operating standards to maintain its Good Corporate Citizen Status in Ghana.
