Church of Pentecost members schooled on operation clean your frontage

Gbetsile, Dec. 31, GNA – The members of the Church of Pentecost in the Gbetsile District in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have been schooled on the modalities of the operation clean your frontage programme.

Speaking at an event to climax the 2021 Christmas convention organized by the Church of Pentecost in the Gbetsile District, Mr Joseph Kwesi Gbeze, Presiding Member Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly expressed gratitude to the leadership of the church.

Mr Gbeze explained that Christians must endeavour to keep their immediate surroundings very clean, adding that, the Christian population in the country needed to uphold the Operation clean your frontage vision to ensure that Accra would become the cleanest city in Ghana.

The Kpone-Katamanso Presiding Member hinted that the Municipal Assembly would put in place measures to ensure the operation clean your frontage campaign rolled out in 2022.

According to him, the Municipal Assembly as part of its campaign plans would print leaflets, banners, and embark on an intensive campaign across all the 18 electoral areas within the municipality to sensitize the residents on the Operation clean your frontage programme.

Mr Gbeze stated that the Municipal Assembly has gazette its reviewed by-laws on sanitation saying that Churches, Companies, and individuals were supposed to keep their frontages clean at all times.

He revealed that in a situation where people refuse to keep their frontages clean the Municipal Assembly through its Environmental Unit would undertake that task and then surcharge the owner of the said property at a fee.

He added that failure to comply with the charges could lead to prosecution.
The Presiding Member noted that Assembly Members within the various electoral areas in the municipality would lead the campaign to ensure residents adhere to the rules and regulations attached to the Operation Clean your frontage campaign.
