Tema, Dec. 24, GNA – The Ike Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Sakumono, a suburb within the Tema Metropolis, has feted widows and children at Tema Community One in the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Tema, Mr Isaac Kwame Asante, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ike Foundation, stated that the welfare of widows and children was his topmost priority.
He said that many times, at the approach of occasions as Christmas and other seasonal events, widows, children, and other less privileged were left behind.
Mr Asante added that such people needed to be shown genuine love by society.
According to him, children were a precious gift from God, and it was the responsibility of everyone to ensure less privileged children took part in the celebration of Christmas and others.
The Ike Foundation CEO mentioned that widows needed attention from the public, indicating that they go through a lot of emotional stresses when lonely.
Mr George Opare Addo, Chief Executive Officer Perry-tech Company Limited, expressed gratitude to the Ike Foundation for the gesture.
Mr Addo stated that widows and children were very important in society and needed more attention from all stakeholders.
He said children inspired him and he would do all he could to bring smiles to the faces of less privileged children, adding that the country’s prospects were in the hands of the children.
