GMA elects new National Executives

AccraDec 20, GNA- The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has elected new National Executive Committee (NEC) members to steer the affairs of the Association for the next two years.

The Association, in a statement issued and signed by its President, Dr Frank Serebour, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, in Accra, said the new members were elected at the close of the Association’s 63rd Annual General Meeting held at Sunyani in the Bono Region on November 6, 2021.

The statement said Dr Frank Serebour, a Paediatrician Specialist and Medical Superintendent at the Bekwai Municipal Hospital, in the Ashanti Region, was elected the President.

It said Dr Justice Duffu Yankson, Principal Medical Officer and Barrister at Law at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, was elected Vice President.

Dr Titus Kofi Beyuo, Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist, University of Ghana Medical School and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, was elected as the General Secretary.

Other members of the NEC are: Dr Richard Selormey, Specialist-Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital, Hwidiem, Brong Ahafo, Assistant General Secretary, Elizabeth Esi Crentsil, Senior Specialist, Obstetrician Gynecologist, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, Treasurer.

The statement said Dr Richard Wodah-Seme, Public Health Physician and Deputy Director, Public Health, Ghana Health Service, Upper West Region, and Dr Selorm Kutsoati, Public Health Physician, Municipal Director of Health Services, Ga East Municipality, Greater Accra Region, were elected as NEC members.

It said, Dr Frank Ankobea, the immediate past President of GMA, a Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist and a Barrister at Law, School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, was elected a member of the NEC.

The statement urged members of the Association to update their records to reflect same and cooperate with the new executives.
