Accra, Dec 18, GNA – Mr. Saddick Adams, a Sports Broadcaster with Angel Broadcasting Network’s (ABN) emerged winner in the maiden Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG) Sports Journalist of the Year award.
He was honoured during the 46th MTN SWAG Awards held last Friday at the Accra International Conference Centre.
He received a plaque and cash of GH10,000 from the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudi Bawumia.
Mr. Adams mostly known in the sports media as “Sports Obama” sailed through this after a stiff competition from multiple Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Sports Journalists winner, John Vigah from the Ghanaian Times, and Samuel Boakye-Buckman also known as “Dada Oliseh”, a photojournalist.
He presented works done on the history of Ghana’s legendary goalkeeper, Robert Mensah and that was adjudged a good by the Vetting Committee of SWAG and the Executive Committee.
After the event, Saddick Adams took to his Twitter page and tweeted “Thanks to SWAG for this award, as the best sports journalist 2021. Truly one of the best moments in my life”.
“To all my colleagues in the category and all sports Journalists, I am proud of all your superb works”.
