Accra, Dec 18, GNA- Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman, Church of Pentecost, has advised parents to take an active interest in their wards upbringing since it is a duty that comes with benefits in old age.
He said: Train your kids and grandchildren by pushing them to the top and they will also take care of you in your old age.”
Apostle Nyamekye gave the advice when the Samuel Amo Tobbin (SAT) Foundation formerly Tobinco Foundation, in collaboration with the Church of Pentecost Retired Officers, Greater Accra Chapter, held their annual Beneficiaries’ Thanksgiving Service dubbed: “Aseda Kese” and themed: “Give Thanks” based on Psalm 100: 4-5.
The Beneficiaries’ thanksgiving Service forms part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Tobinco Group of Companies headed by Mr. Samuel Amo Tobbin, the Executive Chairman.
It is also an initiative for Mr. Amo Tobbin to give back to society especially widows, widowers and retirees of the Church of Pentecost of which he is a member and communities that nurtured him since childhood.
In line with this, Apostle Nyamekye urged the beneficiaries to pray for the youth, take good care of their children and assure them of God’s mercies that would not forsake them to nurture good leaders for the society.
The SAT beneficiaries were presented with half a piece of cloth each, food and bread.
“This is the fourth edition since we started, in all the clothes are 500, the beneficiaries are also given a stipend every month for their upkeep,” Madam Harriet N. Asante, Executive Director, SAT Foundation said.
Mr. Amo Tobbin, in a Word of exhortation, urged the aged to have faith in God, adding that “Your serving God will not be in vain, have hope in Him,” he said.
The Church of Pentecost Retired Officers Fellowship presented citations to Mr. Amo Tobbin and his father Elder Amo Tobbin Senior.
