GRNMA Akatsi Chapter organises free health screening for residents of Torve

Torve (VR), Dec. 9, GNA— The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Akatsi Chapter, has organised a free Medical Outreach for residents of Torve Electoral area in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region.

The maiden exercise was part of the Association’s week-long celebration in the Municipality which commenced from Sunday, December 5 and would end on Friday, December 10.

A total of 257 residents, were drawn from areas such as Torve, Agordoe, and its neighbouring communities were screened and given the needed medical treatment during the outreach.

Mr Emmanuel C. K Todzoh, a Paediatric Nurse Specialist at the Akatsi Municipal Hospital and District Chairman of the GRNMA, explained, the medical outreach was focused on issues such as ear, nose, throat and Eyecare, Mental health care, Paediatric care, and general medical care.

Some beneficiaries, who interacted with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), indicated the exercise was apt and would help them ensure they pay much attention to their health issues for healthy living.

Other activities according to Mr Todzoh, include durbar for members of the Association, games, dinner and awards night.

The theme of the celebration is ”Nurses and Midwives -A Voice to Lead in the Vision for a Transformed Healthcare.
