Konongo-Odumase (Ash), Dec. 07, GNA – The Konongo Magistrate Court has discharged four of the five students of the Konongo Odumase Senior High School standing trial for their involvement in the murder of their colleague.
Their discharge follows an advice received from the Attorney General’ office by the prosecution.
The prime suspect is however, set to face trial at the High Court on the murder charge after the Attorney General established a prima facie case against him.
The Court presided over by Mrs. Joyce Bamfo directed that the students should return to school however the Headmaster of the school, Dr. Benjamin Opoku Baah said it was not a good idea to reintegrate them in the school.
He suggested that they should be transferred to other schools because of their potential stigmatization in that particular school environment.
Dr Opoku Baah said the school would liaise with the Regional Education Directorate to find new schools for the four to enable them to continue their studies in a suitable environment.
It would be recalled that 17 year-old Larhan Sam-una was stabbed to death by the key suspect on November 5 after the prime suspect and the other four accomplices embarked on a bullying spree on that fateful day on campus.
According to the Police, the five had gone to house three to bully the first year students after prep but the deceased stood up for a colleague they were dragging away to go and molest.
According to the Prosecution this action infuriated the suspect who stabbed him at the lower left ribs with a kitchen knife he had concealed on him.
Sam-una who bled profusely was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to the Konongo-Odumase Government hospital.
