Sekondi (W/R), Dec. 07, GNA – Mr Andrew Egyapa Mercer, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi Constituency in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis (STMA) has assured residents of Kweikuma, Adiembra, and its environs that all stalled road construction works will resume soon.
He indicated that the construction of roads in the constituency for some time now had stalled following financial constraints on the side of the contractor but assured that the contractor would mobilize to the site to complete the work soon.
According to Mr Mercer, who was speaking in an interview with the GNA, the contractor in charge of construction works halted the work as a result of the lack of funds but stated that works on some major roads in the constituency would commence very soon.
He announced that roads within the Kweikuma, Adiembra, and its environs were part of the construction to be taken by Justmoh Construction Limited, an indigenous construction firm in the Region.
Mr Mercer, who is also a Deputy Minister for Energy said, the Sekondi Market was set to undergo construction as was captured in the 2022 budget by the Finance Minister.
According to him, the construction would commence after the approval of the 2022 Budget.
