Coastal Development Authority inspects ongoing projects in Akatsi South

Akatsi (VR), Nov. 13, GNA- Mr Bob-Charles Agbontor, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority (CoDA), has inspected some ongoing projects being undertaken by the Authority within the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region.

The projects are under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), a programme under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives (MSDI).

The programme is an initiative extensively implemented through the Development Authorities after intensive public engagement and stakeholder consultation to build good consensus for projects.

The inspection was part of the Deputy CEO’s tour of the Volta Region to acquaint himself with the progress of the ongoing projects.

Mr Kofitsey Martin Nyahe, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, together with his team from the Assembly, led the entourage to visit the project sites.

The projects include ongoing construction of a Six-Unit classroom block with an office, library and store at Kpodzivi and Gornikope respectively.

Dignitaries present include, Mr Boateng, the Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Selorm Gakpetor, Mr Richard Kujo Abledu, Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in Akatsi South and Mr Bless Nkegbe, communications officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Nyahe, on his part, expressed satisfaction with the tour.

He said the move would help champion the government’s programmes and projects in the beneficiary communities.
