CAF Women’s Champions: Appiah’s goal earns a point for Hasaacas Ladies against Wadi Degla

Accra, Nov. 11, GNA – Veronica Appiah’s goal in the 49th secured a point for Hasaacas Ladies in their 2-2 drawn game against Egypt’s Wadi Degla in the final Group A Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League played at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Jasmin Zachwieja put her side ahead in the ninth minute before Faustina Aidoo’s header cancelled the lead for the host team.

Chasing for a ticket in the semi-finals, Noha Elsolh scored from a stunning free-kick to give her side a 2-1 lead in the first half.

However, Appiah’ header four minutes from recess broke the homers’ hearts after having one foot in the next stage.

Hasaacas, topped the group with seven points ahead of Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea, Wadi Degla of Egypt and Malian’s AS Mande.

Malabo Kings join the Ghanaian team in the last four and would wait for their opponents after Group B matches on Friday, November 12.

Mamelodi Sundowns would face ASFAR FC while Rivers Angels lock horns with Vihiga Queens.
