Bibiani (WN/R), Oct. 09, GNA – Bibiani Gold Mines, currently owned by Ashanti Gold Corporation, has presented a cheque for GH¢16,000 to Bibiani Senior High Technical School to aid in their preparation towards this year ‘s National Science and Maths quiz competition.
The amount would cover the cost of preparation and other expenses such as a trip to the venue, feeding as well as accommodation for staff and students up to the first stage of the competition.
The gesture was in response to a request by the management of the school to the mining company soliciting for support for its Science and Maths quiz preparation.
Mr. Emmanuel Aidooh, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of the company, who presented the cheque to the school, asked the students to learn hard to achieve their aims and aspirations in life.
He urged them to put up a good performance in the competition to bring glory to their school and the community at large.
He pledged the company’s support for the school at every stage of the competition saying, “the onus lies on you the students to work hard”.
Mr. Stephen Kwadwo Dandey, Headmaster of the school who received the cheque with much excitement, promised to put the money to judicious use.
