Sunyani, Sept. 13, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region on Monday said it is saddened by the death of the mother of the Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Party said it received information about the death of Hajia Mariama Bawumia with shock and disbelief and expressed its sympathy to the Vice-President and the bereaved family.
In a press statement issued and signed by Mr Seth Asare Bediako, the Bono Regional Communication Director of the NPP, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday in Sunyani, the Party said “Veep, we sympathise with you over the sudden demise of your mum and we want to assure you the Party in the region is solidly behind you in these moments of sorrow”.
“Death is inevitable, but we know your mum is patiently resting in the arms of Allah. She was a woman of substance embedded with traits of Quranic womanhood. Hajia has truly paid her dues and NPP in general and Ghana, in particular, would forever remember her”, the statement added.
In a related development, Dr Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency has expressed her condolence to the Vice-President and the bereaved family.
She told the GNA in an interview the nation has lost a true mother and hoped the Vice President and entire bereaved family would have their comfort in God.
Dr Prempeh, also a Minister of State in charge of Works and Housing said “we pray Allah would strengthen you and the family and restore whatever you have lost.
