Goaso (A/R), July 12, GNA – A team from the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) is attending the German-Ghana Agro-Processing Exhibition to be held in Accra on Tuesday, July 13.
Led by Mr George Boakye, the Regional Minister, they are expected to showcase and sell the economic prospects and opportunities in the region at the exhibition to be attended by more than 40 German investors.
“The Minister’s participation in the exhibition is at the invitation of Mr. Burkhardt Hellemann, the Delegate for the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK, Ghana)”, a statement issued and signed by Mr Moses Antwi, the Special Aide to the Minister indicated on Monday at Goaso.
It is being organised by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ghana Investment Promotion Council with support from the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana, the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, and the Africa Business Network.
The exhibition would create a platform for both leaders and German investors to deliberate on mutually beneficial cooperation and deepen the bilateral relations between Germany and the Ahafo Region.
A copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani explained the exhibition “is an initiative by a Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana, which is in line with its mandate to promote trade between Germany and Ghana”.
“Among other objectives, the exhibition aims at looking more intently at the agro-processing sector and promote the transfer of world-renowned and much-loved German technology, know-how, ideas, and interesting German businesses into the agro-processing space in Ghana”, it added.
“The Delegation is excited by developments in the space in Ghana and is ready to support efforts to increase and improve agricultural output and focus more on value-addition efforts along the value-chain”.
“The first in the series of this event aims to bring together, Ghanaian and German agro-processing businesses, thought-leaders, policymakers and other relevant actors in the sector to network”.
