Nagani (NR) June 21, GNA – The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church North Ghana Mission has inaugurated a GH₵19,768.00 Church building for members of Nagani in the Yendi Municipality of Northern Region.
The Church, which comprises of main Hall, toilet and urinal was funded through the efforts of Elder Dr. Paul Ayiku Agyeman of Tema Community Three S.D.A Church who led in soliciting funds for the project.
It has a membership of 65 made up of 24 males and 41 females and was started through house to house and public evangelism conducted by a Team of the Yendi District S.D.A Church led by the then Yendi SDA District Pastor Daniel Gyemerah in March 2019 with the baptism of 34 souls as beginners and on 6th March 2019 started operating.
In a sermon, Pastor Paul Dapaah Siakwan, President of North Ghana Mission advised them to commit their problems to God by praying in the Church. “If the devil, witchcraft, is waging war against you, go to the Church to pray.“
He urged them to see God as the only solution to their problems and challenges and avoid vices that could lead them against the will of God.
Obor Jagri Wumbei, the chief of Nagani was grateful for the establishment of the church and called for a good school, water and a health facility (clinic).
Pastor Dapaah in a response said although they could not offer an immediate promise, they would do everything possible to support them after the strains of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pastor Daniel Gyemerah who was Yendi S.D.A District Pastor through whose efforts the Church was established was grateful to the donors, Elder Paul Ayiku Agyemang, Mrs. Anna Agyemang, Miss Ruth Agyemang, Elder Dr. Daniel Agyemang, Mrs. Cynthia Agyemang, Brother Joel Agyemang, Elder Samuel Asante Mensah, Tema community three (3) S.D.A Church, Tema community six (6) S.D.A Church and North Ghana Mission and expressed his appreciation to the Yendi S.D.A Church and their Pastor Daniel Owusu for their financial and material support.
North Ghana Mission presented a citation in honour of Dr. Paul Ayiku Agyemang and family and the other donors for their notable contribution in putting up the church, while 13 members of the community accepted Christ and will later be baptized into the church.
