Mafi-Gidikpoe (V/R), June 12, GNA – Mr Worlanyo Kwadjo Siabi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), has expressed satisfaction at work done on the ongoing water projects in five Districts.
The Five Districts Water Supply Project is an initiative of the government aimed at supplying quality water to 183 communities in five districts including; Central Tongu, Adaklu, Agotime-Ziope, North Tongu and Ho West.
He pegged progress of work at 25 per cent, saying the project was on course, and was optimistic it would be completed on record time to supply quality water to beneficiary communities.
Mr Siabi who made these statements after inspecting the project, said it was the vision of the wish of President Nana Akufo Addo for every community in the country to have access to potable drinking water.
He disclosed that issues that could pose challenge to smooth and effective execution of the project were dealt with, hence, the work would be delivered on schedule.
The CEO commended the contractor for keeping to specification and asked him to maintain it and ensure that the work was done qualitatively.
Mr Siabi also engaged members of beneficiary communities to address their concerns and asked them to cooperate with the workers for the project to be delivered on time so they could have access to good drinking water.
He assured communities that were not captured in the third phase of the project that they would have their turn during the implementation of the fourth phase.
Mrs Eunice Bloder, Deputy Project Manager, said they were determined to deliver quality work and also complete the project as planned.
Mr Thomas Moore Zonyrah, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Central Tongu, commended the President for the initiative, saying it would help improve the health conditions of people in the area.
He said the underground water which was the source of drinking water for the people was not good for their health as a result of chemical compositions in it and the project would enable school children to have enough contact hours as they would have access to water to go to school.
The project started in November last year, and is expected to be completed in a period of two years at a cost of 11.5 million Euros.
