Accra, June 6, GNA – Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as T. B. Joshua, has died in Lagos, on Saturday, June 5, official social media pages of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), which he founded and led, has confirmed.
The charismatic Nigerian televangelist and philanthropist,born June 12, died at 57 years.
According the post on twitter, the renowned preacher, died shortly after concluding a programme in the evening.
The cause of his death is yet to be determined by an autopsy.
The post on his official Facebook page reads:
‘“Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.’” – Amos 3:7
“On Saturday 5th June 2021, Prophet TB Joshua spoke during the Emmanuel TV Partners Meeting:
‘“Time for everything – time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service'”.
“God has taken His servant Prophet TB Joshua home – as it should be by divine will. His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for and died for.
“As Prophet TB Joshua says, ‘The greatest way to use life is to spend it on something that will outlive it.’”
“Prophet TB Joshua leaves a legacy of service and sacrifice to God’s Kingdom that is living for generations yet unborn.
“The Synagogue Church Of All Nations and Emmanuel TV Family appreciate your love, prayers and concern at this time and request a time of privacy for the family.”
“Here are Prophet TB Joshua’s last words: ‘Watch and pray.”
The SCOAN, headquartered in Lagos, has branches in many parts of the world, including Ghana.
TB Joshua was a very influencial leader, who mentored many leaders, including presidents.
The evangelical charismatic church has tens of thousands of worshippers from across Africa.
Thousands have, over the years, given testimonies of miracles received through the prayers of TB Joshua, including being healed of different ailments, such as HIV and AIDS, cancer, infertility, stroke and diabetes.
The Church is also famous for its live services broadcast on its Emmanuel Television and YouTube Channels.
TB Joshua authored some Christian literature, including: “The Mirror;
“The Step Between You And The Cure”; and Daily Time With God”.
In September 2014, SCOAN was accused of negligence after its guesthouse collapsed, killing more than 100 worshippers, most of them South Africans.
