Gloria Afetor eyes 2021 GMB title for Volta Region

Ho, June 01, GNA – Miss Gloria Afetor, a 27-year-old tourism enthusiast and the Chief Executive Officer of G.A College of Beauticians, is optimistic of winning the 2021 edition of TV3’s Ghana Most Beautiful pageant show as the representative of the Volta Region.

Miss Afetor who excelled from the first stage of the regional auditions, has already gained overwhelming social media endorsement and support from users with 2.8k engagements in hours after her pictures as a contestant hit the social media platforms including Facebook.

“But what captivated our attention is the comments of people from all walks of life and the pledges of the masses to vote for her was fascinating.

Never has an audition for a beauty pageant received such a massive mass appeal within hour of just a first audition,” A source close to the contestant said.

Miss Afetor has a passion for domestic tourism over the past six years with her exploits getting her nominated and winning the 2020 Youth in Tourism Awards.

She was also a finalist in Miss tourism Ghana 2016, won the Face of Tourism Volta 2017 and currently the first runner-up of the Volta Fashion Awards’ Most Popular Female Fashion Personality of the Year”.

Miss Afetor’s ethos of her is captured in her favourite quote: “be yourself and let your personality be the flavour that makes you different because you are your own original version of success”.

Her writing skills aimed at promoting domestic tourism and tourist sites in the region have drawn attention to the Logba Tota community as a major tourism destination with the help of the chiefs and people of the community which she instituted an annual tour of the village.

She also promoted the Wli Wterfalls, Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, Tagbo Falls, Abohire Falls at Bowiri Abohire in the Oti region as well as the snake zoo in Liati Soba, the Tizor waterfalls, the Ayafie waterfalls at Gbadzeme and the Ave Dakpa crocodile pond.

Miss Afetor is the brand ambassador for Faytex sanitary Pad in the Volta region and embarks on tours to schools and communities to educate young girls about menstrual hygiene and safe use of sanitary pads.

She has already been fully backed by the chiefs and people of Have her hometown, old students of Vakpo SHS, her alma mater as well as members of the one Volta Group among others.

Miss Afetor has also engaged and embarked on voluntary seminars and programmes such as the Feminine Star Africa on their outward-bound seminars, which motivated Senior and Junior High students especially girls to believe in themselves and go for gold.

The last lap for the selection of a candidate for the Volta region is Slated for June 2, Miss Afetor is enthusiastic about getting the sole slot, out of six contestants.
