Global Evangelical Church, New Achimota embarks on new Chapel project

Accra, May 20, GNA – The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Setorwu Kwadzo Ofori, has cut the sod for the commencement of an ultra- modern chapel for the Global Evangelical church at New Achimota.

The chapel, when completed, would have a one thousand seater auditorium, a conference room, worship place for the children’s service, a baptistery, seven offices and a car park.

It is estimated to cost about GHC 2 million Ghana cedis and is expected to be completed in five years.

In a sermon on the theme: “Faithful Stewards Persist in Prayer,” the Moderator said prayer was an important key which believers could not afford to throw away but rather persistently engaged in it in their daily endeavours.

He encouraged members of the church to always pray for the will of God.
“Keep prayers simple, straight forward and it should be based on the word of God,” he said.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Ofori reminded Christians not to feel overwhelmed by their challenges bearing in mind the fact that, “Jesus Christ still intercedes for us.”

The Clergy Executive commended the local congregation for the performance and encouraged them to continue with the good works.

The parish pastor Rev Gilbert Kwasi Gbortsu was grateful to God for how far he had brought the congregation and expressed utmost gratitude to the Executives for coming to grace the occasion.

He encouraged members to keep the spiritual zeal, as the God who begun the good works will surely bring it to an end.
The occasion was witness by Rev. Raphael Mac Attih, the Synod Clerk of the Church.
