Tema, May 02, GNA – Mr Bartholomew Darko, Managing Director of the Tema Tank Farm Limited (TTF), a petroleum storage company, has commended workers for their sacrifices amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I salute all workers in Ghana, especially the employees of Tema Tank Farm, our customers, Oil marketing Companies (OMCs) and the Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs), tanker drivers who continue to load from TTF for their sacrifices,” he said.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Managing Director of the company and copied to the Ghana News Agency at Tema in commemoration of May Day, a day dedicated to honouring workers globally for their strives and contributions to society.
Tema hosted the 2021 Greater Accra Regional celebration on the theme: “Economic Recovery in an era of COVID-19: The role of Social Partners.”
“I commend you for your sacrifices, dedicated services to keep the business and the national economy running amid the dreadful COVID-19 pandemic,” the MD said.
He lauded the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, the National Petroleum Authority, National Technologies Limited and other stakeholders for their contribution in ensuring that operations were seamless in line with industrial laws and regulations.
“I want to express our profound appreciation to you all for your dedication and commitment to serving Mother Ghana through the work, providing the safest, most efficient, and assured product quality storage services to fuel the economic wheels of Ghana,” the statement added.
The statement urged all employers and workers in the country to continue to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols and all other safety practices at workplaces to protect life and property, and further cautioned drivers to abide by all road safety regulations to avoid or reduce the barest minimum, road crashes in the country.
“You have braced the storms by continuing to fuel the nation over a year that the ravaging effects and the scary nature of COVID-19 engulfed the country,” he said and expressed optimism that the COVID-19 pandemic would have abated for an even better commemoration of May Day in 2022.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the government to rehabilitate the road from TOR to Kpone to ease the trauma workers, especially tanker drivers who ply the road, go through in contributing towards the country’s development.
