Wli (V/R), April 06, GNA – The Wli waterfalls, on Monday got busy as tourists converged at the Falls to wrap up the Easter activities.
Although the crowd at the Falls’ site had decreased, tourists who enter the water to swim did not observe the Covid-19 safety protocols.
Mr Dennis Jordor, Chairman, Wli Agumatsa Waterfalls Governing Council, said tourists could not be denied access to the Falls even though the community had not initiated any plans towards the Easter festivities due to Covid-19.
He said tourists were made to follow Covid-19 safety protocols such as proper wearing of face masks, wash and sanitise their hands when they visited.
The Chairman noted that not all tourists would love to swim when they visited, adding that some only wanted to take a walk, take pictures, get together with their families and sightseeing.
“Some people have not taken a walk in a while nor seen an environment like this, so all they do is to walk, rest along the way and take pictures with the waterfalls in the background.”
He said the Council would make adequate plans to provide changing rooms at the Falls site.
Mr Isaac Anku, Driver, said it was his first time visiting the Falls and would love to come back due to its beautiful nature.
Madam Doris Abena Bikpela, a Business woman, who was at the Falls with her family said they came for relaxation.
The GNA has observed that although most of the tourists leave the Wli Falls Office with masks on, they get unmasked at the Falls site.
Security officers from the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces were on stand-by at the Falls.
