Accra, March 13, GNA – Mobile Doctors Ghana, a Health Consultanty Centre in collaboration with the Assembly Member for Blekese East in the Nungua Krowor District, has organised a free health screening for residents in the area.
The residents were screened for diseases and conditions such as malaria, sugar level, typhoid, and blood pressure.
Mr Shadrack Odai, the Assembly member, said the exercise was to enable residents know their health status and get medication for a healthy life.
“Quite often we hear people die and the report is we don’t know what happen to the person.Some of this deaths were as a result of people not knowing their health status, “he said.
Mr Odai said he planned to institute the exercise as a yearly programme or every six months to prioritize the health of people in the community.
Mr Odai said he had already organized free health insurance and eye screening for residents in the area.
He was satisfied with the turnout and plan of partnering with other organisations to scale up the exercise to other diseases which comes at a high cost for the residents.
He advised the public to adhere to the health protocols of social distancing, washing our hands frequently and sanitize the hands.
Mr Michael Quaye, the Marketing Manager, Mobile Doctors Ghana, said the collaboration was part of the Organisation’s one year anniversary to give back to the society.
He said the Centre had organised an outreach programme to educate the residents on the need to lead healthy lives and prevent diseases.
Mr Quaye charged the public to recognize that COVID-19 was real and urged them to get involved in the ongoing vaccination exercise.
