More than 500 PWDs in Sunyani West receive support

Odomase, March 12, GNA – More than 500 persons with disability (PWDs) have benefited from government’s sustainable disability support projects in the Sunyani West Municipality.

Mr Martin Obeng, the Municipal Chief Executive, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview after he handed over 10 feet square container store each to three PWDs at Fiapre and Nsuatre in the Municipality, at a cost of GH¢15,000.00.

He said the Assembly had created a special Disability Folder, which contained personal data of all PWDs in the area, to attend to their needs.

Mr Obeng said the container stores and the other supporting equipment would help sustain the PWDs and their families to live meaningful lives, adding that that was more valuable than offering them cash.

Mr George Ankamah, a beneficiary, commended the Assembly for the support and said the store would facilitate his sale of plumbing tools and materials in the area, which he had always yearned for.

The two others; Madam Grace Antwiwaa, 60, and Mrs Mavis Akomaa, all from Nsuatre, said they would sell plastic materials and beads making tools, respectively, in their containers.
