Elizabeth Oppong, Felicity Asante, two others nominated as NASCO Player of the Month

Accra, Feb. 5, GNA – Thunder Queens’ Elizabeth Oppong, Berry Ladies’ Felicity Asante, and two others have been nominated by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as the NASCO Player of the Month award.

The other two are Prisons Ladies’ Abigail Tutuwaah and defender Comfort Yeboah who plays for Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

The influential players would be voted as the best Player for the month of January.

Oppong, having scored a goal and two assists followed by her impressive performance for her side earned her the enviable selection to be voted as the best player. After playing three matches so far in the ongoing National Women’s Premier League (NWPL), the skillful midfielder received two NASCO Player of the match accolade in January.

Berry Ladies forward, Asante, who is currently the top goal-scorer on four ahead of Northern Ladies’ Mukarama Abdulai.

She bagged a hat-trick against Soccer Intellectuals and a goal against their last game against Sea Lions. Her crucial goals has put Berry Ladies on top of the league table with nine points, keeping a clean sheet after three matches.

Abigail Tutuwaah earning a place on the list was due to her splendid performance for Prisons Ladies in the Northern Zone.

The midfielder has played in all three matches for her side and has exhibited to be the gem holding the team. She scored a goal against Ashtown ladies in match-day two of the NWPL to secure the maximum points for the team.

Ampem Darkoa’s Yeboah solid performance at the back for her team was not overlooked. The 14-year old defender gallantly guarded the Techiman based side defense and has been a constant player for the team in all three matches.

The winner of the Player of the Month will be awarded a 32inch NASCO TV set, a hand dryer, and a trophy.

The GFA would announce the winner on Tuesday, February 11 on the GFA’s website.
