Akatsi North Chiefs score DCE 85 percent on performance

Ave Dakpa (VR), Feb 05, GNA – The Ave Council of Chiefs in the Akatsi North District has scored the administration of the District Chief Executive (DCE) 85 percent for delivering infrastructure and other development projects to the people.

The Council said it had become important to commend Dr Prince Sodoke Amuzu after undertaking projects in sectors such as education, health security, telecommunication and economics, aimed at improving the quality of life of the people of Akatsi North.

Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V, President of the Council in an interview with the media on day one of a two-day’s project tour of the District with the DCE and staff of the Assembly said, it was a great relief to see that the Assembly and for that matter, government was doing its best to provide the needs of the people and so, deserved a pat on the shoulder.

Torgbui Glakpe, who led a delegation from the Ave Council of Chiefs, said the Council was marveled at the state of development projects being spread across the 125 communities in the 12 electoral areas under all the six traditional areas in the District and prayed the projects were completed in good time to serve the needs of residents.

The tour saw completed and ongoing projects including the construction of classroom blocks and pavilions for schools, Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, community information centres, district magistrate court, ambulance station, police station, market complex, telecommunication masts and rehabilitation of community water systems.

The Assembly indicated that some of the projects got funding from Members of Parliament’s Common Fund (MPCF) and Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) with majority coming from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT).
