Akatsi (VR), Dec. 26, GNA – Three babies were born on the Christmas day at Akatsi in the Volta region.
The babies were delivered at separate hospitals namely; the Akatsi Municipal Hospital and St Paul’s Hospital Limited for the handicapped, both within the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta region.
The babies, made up of two girls and a boy, were delivered safely at the health facilities.
At the Akatsi Municipal Hospital, two babies, a boy and a girl were delivered between the hours of 0919 and 0130 on Friday, December 25 whilst St Paul’s registered a girl at 0738 hours the same day.
The mothers expressed excitement in an interaction with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) for going through the delivery process safely.
They indicated “it is a special Christmas gift they ever hoped for.”
They also expressed gratitude to God for His love and mercies over the nine months period of pregnancy.
Mrs Setsoafia Lucky, a mother, who delivered at the St Paul’s Hospital said all she hoped for was getting a bouncing baby and God did just that for her.
Mrs Ann Gedzeve, in-charge at the Maternity unit of the Akatsi Municipal Hospital maintained their outfit would continue to offer professional service delivery to mankind.
Mr Pascal Ayivor, the health information officer at the Akatsi Municipal Hospital added, they aimed at maintaining zero maternal deaths enjoyed by the facility over some years ago.
All the mothers were filled with joy as friends and relations visited to congratulate them.
