Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/R), Dec. 14, GNA – Coach (WO) Paul Tandoh, Assistant Coach of Aduana Stars has blamed the team’s poor showing against Techiman Eleven Wonders in Match Day Five of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) on technical challenges a few hours before the match.

“Between yesterday and just before we started the game with Techiman Eleven Wonders, we had some problems. It would be handled, it is not for public consumption,” he told the media after their match against Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Asked about why he had started Sam Adams at the right-back position as against his usual right-wing position, and Fatau Abdul Rahman at the left-back position explained that “Sam Adams is a utility player and was staging a comeback to Aduana Stars from Kotoko, where he had little playing time.

“Fatau after the Normalisation Committee (NC) Cup Competition played at his normal position and the last league, we truncated we started using him at the left-back position due to the aforementioned problems,” he added.

On their preparations for the season, he noted that “We resumed training with less than one month to start the season and suffered a lot of injuries before the start of the season,” he added.

He explained that the team’s inability to honour its first match against Hearts also affected them adding that others had honoured all five matches but Aduana was behind.

Coach Tandoh added that they were a bit disappointed in the attitude of some of the players who according to him otherwise have shown fortitude and were promising during the team’s training sessions but failed to shine as expected in real league matches.
