Dambai (O/R) Dec. 01, GNA – Special voting has begun in the Krachi East Constituency of the Oti Region, with about 541 eligible voters expected to cast their ballot ahead of the general election scheduled for December 7.
Some identifiable groups made up of security agencies, officers of the Electoral Commission, and the media are taking part in the special voting exercise across the country.
Out of 541 participants, 107 had voted when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the Electoral Commission office at 0800 hours.
In all, 2,795 persons are eligible to participate in the exercise across the Oti Region and voting is expected to end at 1700 hours.
Mr Nuhu Mahama, Oti Regional Director of Electoral Commission (EC) told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Commission had made available enough logistics for successful voting.
The exercise, which started on Tuesday is taking place in the Krachi Nchumuru Constituency, Krachi West Constituency, Krachi East Constituency, Nkwanta South Constituency, Nkwanta North Constituency, Akan Constituency, Buem Constituency, and Biakoye Constituency of the Oti Region.
