Kumasi, Dec. 01, GNA – Voting in the ongoing special voting exercise ahead of the December 07 general elections, has been generally smooth and peaceful in the Ashanti Region.
Ghana News Agency visit to some of the polling centres in the Region indicates smooth and peaceful conduct of the electorates, who are mainly security officials, media, health workers and others, who will be working during the Election Day.
About 17,000 registered voters are expected to cast their votes in 46 polling centres across the Region.
At the Central Police Station ‘A’ polling center in Subin Constituency, 70 out of the 694 registered voters had cast their votes as at 8:14 am.
At the polling center ‘B’ in the same Constituency, 94 out of the 693 electorates had cast their votes.
Twenty five, out of 125 electorates in the Asawase Constituency, had voted as at 8:22 am.
At the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, 53 out of a total of 347 people had cast their votes as at 7:50am.
In the Oforikrom Constituency, 28 out of the 356 registered voters had cast their votes as at 7:40am.
140 out of 499 voters in the Bosomtwe Constituency, had voted as at 9:25am.
At the Tafo-Pankrono, 12 out of 249, had cast their votes, as at. 7:30 am.
