Accra, Nov. 25, GNA – Ghana’s award-winning IT firm, Vokacom Limited, has changed its name to Afrifanom Limited.
In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, in Accra, on Wednesday, November 25, the company said the move was to mirror the transformation and growth of the company, while staying true to its African Heritage.
“The rebranding effort is a clear reflection of its identity, commonality and unstoppable drive to dominate Africa,” the statement said.
Its values, “Accountability, Innovation, Can-do and Excellence”, the statement said, however, remained unchanged.
Along with the name change, Afrifanom has released a new company logo.
A new website, the Company said, would be launched in January 2021.
For marketing and branding purposes, the company would begin to refer to itself under the new corporate name, the statement added.
“More importantly, Afrifanom would like to assure all its stakeholders that the change of name will not affect the nature, staff and board of the company, all documents and business interests bearing the former name still hold valid,” it said.
Afrifanom has been a leading firm in Digital Addressing, Information Technology, Real Estate Development, Financial Advisory, Impact Investment and Agribusiness in Africa over the past 16 years.
Its diverse portfolio ensures that it constantly evolved to meet the needs of clients with excellent customer service.
“The firm is made up of six subsidiaries and continues to set the standard of excellence in various industries under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Nana Osei Afrifa and over 40 staff,” the statement said.
“Among other achievements, Nana Osei Afrifa and his team chalked an amazing feat of winning the international competitive bid, beating twenty-seven other companies, to design and build the GhanaPostGPS Addressing System, The world’s first Official Digital Address System.
“Afrifanom Limited has earned recognition on the domestic stage winning Software Company of the Year for three consecutive years (2018, 2019 and 2020) and Mobile VAS Company of the year (2019 & 2020) at Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA)”.
Internationally, Afrifanom also won the 2019 edition of the globally competitive ITU Telecom World Awards, organised by the International Telecom Union (ITU) in Budapest, Hungary where 175 global SME technology companies from more than 35 countries competed at this major United Nations award event
The CEO has won several individual accolades, including being adjudged the Young ICT Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018, ICT Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019 and IT Professional of the Year 2020, for his entrepreneurial success and innovation in cutting-edge technology at the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom Awards (GITTA).
