MTN donates nosemasks to TTH

Tamale, Sept 08, GNA – MTN Ghana Foundation, has donated 3,000 pieces of N95 nose masks to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH)to support the response against the COVID-19 pandemic in the Northern region.

Mr Obed Adu-Amankwaah, Northern Regional Area Sales Manager, who presented the items on behalf of the Foundation, said the donation was part of several interventions the foundation had carried out across the country, since the first two cases of the virus were recorded.

He said the presentation was also to promote the MTN Ghana’s “Wear it for Me” and “BE WISE” campaigns, that sought to increase public awareness on the importance of wearing face masks in the fight against COVID-19.

He encouraged the citizenry to continue to adhere strictly to the safety protocols issued by local and global authorities in combating the spread of the virus, emphasizing on the need for the people to wear nose masks at all times when they are in public places.

Mr Adu-Amankwaah announced that similar donations would be made in 30 other hospitals in the rest of the regions in the country.

Mr George Atampugre, Director of Administration at the TTH, receiving the items of behalf of the Hospital, expressed gratitude to the MTN Ghana Foundation for the kind gesture, and said they would help to boost the morale of staff in their service delivery.

He appealed to the Foundation and other corporate institutions to support the Hospital with COVID-19 testing equipment and other materials needed to enhance effective healthcare delivery to their clients.
